DAY 2 MEDICINE CARER DAY NETCARE PRETORIA EAST HOSPITAL

 DAY 2 MEDICINE CARER DAY

NETCARE PRETORIA EAST HOSPITAL

It was a busy day at The Netcare Pretoria East Hospital as our learners embarked on a career field day experience. This enthusiastic team of Medicine professionals have such a variety of  charismatic personalities and we enjoyed their tour in educating our learners about their profession, work experience and life lessons. We were hosted by Mrs. Rinie  Prinsloo who is the Person Centered Care Officer at The Netcare Pretoria East Hospital. Her wonderful coordination made the day simply and smooth. Each of our learners walked away much more confident in their career choice and much more well informed. Below please do reach amazing inspiring story that the learners are sharing with us on why they chose medicine as a career.

Hlawulekile Mathebula

My dream has always been wanting to become a Medical Doctor because I am patient, caring and love helping other people. My visit at The Netcare Pretoria East showed me that team work is very important and that they all depend on one another in order to achieve in successfully helping their clients. I now know that studying smart will help me get the results I need, that forcing information will not help me achieve my career goals. This experience has provided me with so much information that I now know that I have so many career options in the medical industry. Through this Career Day Experience, I have learnt that each position or role in the hospital is as equally as important as any other position. I learnt that Mathematics, Physical Sciences and Life Sciences as subjects will be required to be able to study Medicine in future.

Blessing Rubambure

I am always asked by people why I want to become a Medical Doctor, thing is, there has always been people that I know that have suffered from cancer, coronavirus, yellow fever, monkey pox, small pox, Ebola, and many other illnesses that made me have the need of creating a solution to helping cure people suffering from such illnesses. One of my favorite YouTuber “Technoblade” passed on from stage 4 cancer and its been long that no one has come up with a cure. I want to create a cure to helping others to give them a chance to life. My goal is to create a peaceful and harmless world with just medicine. It does not matter how long it may take me to get there, I am ready to put in the work. This career day experience has helped me realize that I am heading the right direction with my marks. I am prepared for high school and I now know the subjects I need to choose and which High School and University to attend.

Divhani Ramusandiwa

I was born and raised from a village in Limpopo that does not have many Doctors. Throughout my childhood experience, I witnessed the pain of friends, family, the larger community loosing loved ones who were not able to receive medical support/ assistance. That inspired me to pursue a career in medicine so that I can be able to help my community. I want to become a Cardio Surgeon so that I can be able to help my community with heart related issues, not only physical but emotionally as well.  I want to grow into becoming not only a professional Doctor but someone people can rely on, seek support and be genuinely caring for others.

Thank you to all the learners who participated in this career day experience and  for sharing your delightful stories.
